Word Tables V.S. Excel
When making a calendar, is it easier to use excel or word tables? This was the reason for our work. The excel calendar we made for the month of March was extremely easy! Putting pictures on there, fixing the words just right, making everything line up, was all a breeze! The only thing I had trouble with was the automatic stuff. When trying to make the title say March 2011, it changed it to Mar-11. It may not seem like a big deal, and it's not. It's just not what I wanted. That was the only frustrating thing I came across when making it on excel. Now word tables are a different story. I didn't have as much time on my April calendar as I would of liked, because I missed a day, but everything on word made it harder to make it the way I wanted. I like to have some of my pictures go in the background, and I couldn't get them precisely how I wanted. It was hard to situate everything just right. My April calendar was a total disaster, because of my lack of time and the amount of time I needed to make it how I would of liked. On excel I could have made it within an hour and a half and be satisfied, but the table on word was much more time consuming. To me, it is much easier making a calendar on excel than word tables, but don't let me decide. You be the judge! Word tables v.s. excel?

My! How We've Come So Far!
There are a lot-and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT- of people who have gotten us to where we are today, with all of the technilogical advancements and even just general knowledge! We have a lot of people to thank! The most important person in the history of computers has to be Steve Wozniak. Apple computer has made millions of dollars off of his technical designs. Sure, Steve Jobs is the one we see advertising for it, but the real master mind behind it all is Wozniak. He was the one who actually made it work. That was one smart man! He didn't just think of it from scratch though, I mean, he had a little help. He just had a passion for it though, and he pushed himself and made a breakthrough! It wasn't his name up in lights though, which is what I respect most about him. They made millions off of his product, and are still making millions from other apple technologies and advancements. Steve Wozniak retired though. He was still young, and he retired. He was content with what he'd made, it was all he needed and he got out. So he wasn't in it for the money! What he's doing now is the even more amazing part. He's buying the stuff and teaching kids to build computers just like he did. I think that is just amazing, and so inspiring! We really have come a long way since that first computer, and things are changing fast!

Life at Google
Life at google would be crazy! It would take a lot of commitment to be there everyday and on your day off, still have to go into work. I think working at Google would be amazing, but I don't think I'd be smart enough to get a job there. Watching that video gave me a whole different outlook on Google. I thought it was just some search engine, but it's much bigger than that! They are constantly working on ways to improve life and keep their website the best. They've definitely got dedication! The building is like nothing I've ever seen before! I had imagined a big white place with little pods and computers and a lot of rooms where they were working on different things. I never had any interest in Google before now and it is surprising to me how secretive they are. It's a very smart thing, but incredibly intreaging! I would love to work at Google, but I'm not sure I would want to put all of my time into it.

Can You Imagine?!
Wow! I can't believe how much I've learned in just six short days of computer class! It's crazy to think I didn't know there were more search engines than just google, and that some of those off the wall e-mails I get actually aren't true! I can't imagine why anybody would make up an e-mail just for the heck of it! It's just crazy! I'm ashamed to say I actually believed all those e-mails I recieved. E-mail hoaxes. Who knew? I even told my mom about some of them and made her believe too! I mean, some of them are pretty believable. Believe me, I won't be fooled again! I am excited about the new search engines I've learned about too! I never knew there were so many! I loved the cube website, but it would take me all day to find what I was looking for! I could probably play on it all day though! Haha. I really liked some of the meta search engines. I will definitely be using some of those in the future! I'm extremely excited to learn more! :D
